I am a post-doc in the relativistic group under the team of Michal Dovčiak. My main task is research, but occasionally I am involved in training younger colleagues or in the scientific outreach at ASU. As part of my research activities, I am also a scientific participant of the IXPE mission, which is a space satellite with an X-ray polarimeter on board operated by the spatial agencies NASA and ASI since 2021.

I study X-ray binary systems and active galactic nuclei, mostly from the perspective of X-ray polarimetry. Studying these objects in X-rays can tell us a lot on the energetic environment very close to astrophysical black holes that they harbor, including the physical properties of the actual black holes. With my colleagues at ASU we develop theoretical models of such galactic and extragalactic sources that serve to interpret current and future observations with X-ray spectroscopic and polarimetric instruments, such as IXPE (NASA/ASI, operating since December 2021). I also occasionally contribute in data analysis of the latest IXPE observations of X-ray binary systems and active galactic nuclei.
