Maria Caballero-Garcia works as a Research Scientist at the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences since November 2015, after postdoctoral positions in Cambridge (IoA, UK), Heraklion (U. of Crete, Greece), Merate (INAF-OAB, Italy), and Prague (CTU, Czech Republic). Maria obtained her PhD from U. of Barcelona in 2008, based on her work performed at ESAC (Madrid, Spain).
During this time she has become an acknowledged specialist in X-ray Astronomy, with an emphasis on the analysis of X-ray data of accreting and collapsed objects. Her interests also include the studies of optical data and participating in the development of new theoretical models.
